Cleaning in progress
Kids just do their Maths and quran reading. I continue cleaning our classroom on and off and still on it until today. I do hope that I will finish it by tomorrow but, looks like I will having guest tomorrow. Probably two family plus I'm desperately need to go to car boot sale to find computer table and also if I can squeeze time, to recycling centre to put our old computer table away. I'm not sure how I'm gonna manage all that to be honest. I like to be lazy around on Sunday as I know weekday I don't have much chance to actually clear my head. But, at the moment, it's all full as a mess of our classroom.
To reorganize certainly is not an easy things. I'm also had to decide what to throw away and what need to be keep and store in. I just hate what I need to do at the moment. I just feel if I got wand and clear everything away in one go. One of the reason is I'm also on my peak circle of my period. My head will be full although there's nothing to think about. Looking at all the mess just stuck my head. But, STUCK is not something I can live with at the moment because I know it won't get me anywhere. As for that, I just cool and get on with it and go through every single paperwork one by one. I'm actually rushing up against time although I know I can just close and lock the classroom aka our study room tomorrow when I have guess. But, i will be tired at the end of the day tomorrow cooking and entertaining and still will have to think about hubby pack lunch and work clothes for Monday. Also if I don't settle the room tomorrow before guest here, how I'm gonna do my homeschool on Monday?
Well, anyway we'll see. At the moment, I try what I can do and leave everything to Allah s.w.t. He the only One that can make this happen.

Alhamdulillah, everything went smooth as usual even though we in a mess at the moment as I start to tidy up our classroom. All kids went to book club in the library, listen to story reading by the librarian, discuss about the book and do book review. The club is run for one hour and they also change their book. So, looks like twice to the library, giving them more book to read as they try to finish the book they borrow on Tuesday and get a new book on Tuesday. A week, each kids usually read between 5 to 10 library books, alhamdulillah. I think, library had contribute a lots to successful of AS reading as he push himself hard to finish the book he read and borrow another. He finds that book is exiting and give him a pleasure of entertainment and knowledge.

Homeschool start
AS manage to finish one workbook which already been done half of it last night. S finish one of her homework book which contain Maths, English and Science in one book. MS finish off his work he forgot to finish before holiday. PS started to do some Maths work. And that's last night.
Today, get PS and MS to retake assessment for their Maths in mindsprinting. This is because their last assessment is about 6 months ago and things had change I believe since that. In this six months, PS which I put on grade 7 before and had to go back to grade 6, now on grade 7 lesson. It's a good things for her and for me as well. Now she seems moved to various lesson for year 7 and I told her that she should be able to get on grade 8 in the next six months, Insya Allah. MS I made him go back down to lower grade when he took the test. This is as he had behind a lots for me while he was in school although he was on top Maths group in school.
Maths need to be straighten the foundation and that's what mindsprinting want to do. As that i made him go back to grade 3 test, which he success and on grade 4 lesson now. According to his tailor program, he don't have to do lots of multiplication and division anymore as he was master in it with mindsprinting lesson before, He just need to cover other topic and area more such as area, perimeter and lots of others to strenghten his maths foundation. I believe he should be able to get on to the next level in 3 or 4 months time if he work hard. His worksheet before had hit him hard and looking at the tailor program for him now, he should be able to get on with it easily.
English we did from their workbook as I try to finish whatever workbook we got before summer. S did science from her workbook. As also did science from key stage one CGP workbook and been taught by MS. It's first time MS teach AS as I was busy in the kitchen. They get on with each other brilliantly and as MS already finish and cover science key stage 2 for UK curriculum and it's his strong subject, he ask if he could teach AS again and of course the answer is yes. AS also find it interesting to be teach by MS. ( So I can lay back more heh!).
For islamic studies, PS and MS did Seerah. It's a revision for PS actually which I want her to do it from the book I print out. It's a low level but she will also had higher level soon. AS did fikh lesson with me also from the book I print out. Looks like I don't have to buy islamic book anymore for them from the shop, alhamdulilah. And the tailor prograam is lovely! It will also cover English language as well. AS also did some akhlak book. S also start her printed book which for fikh. Today she cover lesson about Ghusl. She also did her akhlak book. PS and MS also did their ad duha book. They also did their quran reading in day time and we did addiyah memorization as well from printed book, alhamdulillah.
I thought I wanted to take it easy today, and never realise that we done quiet a lots. Kids find it ok and didn't feel a stress as first day back after two weeks off. I think because I didn't actually printed much, only mindsprinting worksheet for PS and MS after their test. Others just used workbook and that's easy as no cutting and sticking in their workbook. I'm also feel stress free as the weather is getting nice and beautiful and know where we stand and how kids had improved.
Overall, today is not just nice weather but also nice homeschool day.

I'm a teacher
Then he reach to the last sentence, and keep saying it many time and then he remark, " This didn't make sense. Kakak ( this is what he call PS which in English means sister), this doesn't make sense."
He then keep repeating it again and again. I told Ps, "Look, AS age 6 can notice 13 years olds writing if they right or wrong".
Then AS said, " I can be a teacher. I can teach other people to read and write!".
Make me laugh again!
I just can't help my self thinking about his reading. How I'm struggle in my head and mind to encaurage him with reading and writing. He read everthing. Yes, everything almost fluently. All complicated words which should be for year 4/5, he read them as he learn them. But, certainly not from me or others but from himself. Well, just like my other children, he now had become their group of independent learner. Which what I want them to be. As from there, they wouldn't turn backor look back, but will keep learning anywhere with me or without me. As for that, they do gain lots of knowledge not from me but from documentary, books and surrouding.
Alhamdulillah..AS now join the family..! They all have their ambition, but teaching and learning is always what they love either girl or boys, they did this everywhere and anytime and with everybody around them.

Holiday review
I had a great rest and morning sleep as well. Lots of rest and away from homeschool routine. We still did our quran reading and ta'alim reading which we read fazail amal books and sahih bukhary adab al mufrad. As usual, these two is a read aloud session. For others who did ta'alim session at home will know how this is beneficial. Ta'alim session is a family halaqah which been done at home among family members everyday at the same place in the house and at the same time everyday. If we had guest, we will invite guest to sit together with us but man and woman will be in separate room them for non mahram.
Usually we rotate the reader among family members. It can be hubby, me or any of the kids to read it. Apart from it become a read aloud session, it also become a reading session for kids. But, the only book that we used is Fazail Amal and adab al mufrad. Both already got commentary and the benefit of amal and also adab al mufrat contain islamic manner we should learn and practice. This need to be done at the same place where we choose our lounge as the place we did our daily ta'alim. Also we did at the same time which is after magrib. But as the day keep getting longer. We probably will have to move it after asr for later time. Usually after praying maghrib, we will all sit next to each other and listen to the hadith. This is also the time where hubby or me will talk about deen with kids heart to heart and explain what need to in different different topic each day but usually it will stay in area about imaan and amal. About how we need to strive and steadfast in our religion, Allah and Rasul. Also kids will talk about their motivation to keep up with their amal after listening to the benefit of doing it from Fazail Amal. It's a routine which we all love and it's something that we need to keep each day as we need a family time to sit and talk about deen as a family.
I'm also started to browse resource of our homeschool. And I stumble into this site which I love it so much for islamic studies. I just can't believe how there are something there that I need and make my live easy. I don't have time to actually sit and arrange and planning my own curriculum and what next and next. As kids getting bigger by the day, I'm rushing up to fill them and spend time with them in teaching and not planning and researching and arranging area in each subject. I had used some of the book of the book before which I bought from Dewsbury. i find it very interesting and great in teaching islamic studies, but don't know that it's got a whole syllabus and curriculum. So, I had spend time since yesterday to print and make it into the book my self and ready to use. Some of the will be use straight away after our holiday and some will be use later, alhamdulillah. I'm so happy as the site is what I need.
A gift for the daughter of the ummah download book is so awesome as it teach girl what they need to know from the basic and from islamic point of view. I can't wait to start it with PS. Masya Allah..I really appreciate what these people had done. And of course as they are an expert in the area, the had made research and know what they doing. Their syllabus I find, excellent. So, looks like, islamic studies sort out for all the kids in term of resource. We now just need to get on with it as we got so much to do and look forward to. I'm also thinking to get AS more seriously into homeschooling in term of memorization of surah and dua. This is the time for him and I had to work hard with others as their brain now is tougher then before. I know that I will facing hardship after this as I'm now going to start regime homeschool on islamic studies area. Although we had quran reading, any islamic studies subject a day which can be fikh, tauhid, arabic/tajweed and seerah, I will then arrange more time for kids to spend in islamic studies and more memorization time now. As they seems stable with their Maths and other academic subject, now we just need to maintain their position and improving further and learning new things is not a big deal anymore.
I know that i will hear the whinge from kids, but I'm also confident that they do understand fully that this is the only time for them to gain what ever they need to. I'm not being regime as to make them brilliant or cleaver academically or even to reach higher level in their islamic knowledge. But, to learn the essential islam and to bring into practice will need hardship. And we will go through this together. I think this two weeks break will indeed freshen us and once we get back on our homeschool routine, Insya Allah we ready to concentrate.
This break also give me time to sit, relax, ponder, think and tidy up, spring cleaning and whatever it needs. It's not just freshen my mind, but also the house and surrounding area. Also kids get to have freedom time and lots of play and running around especially with PS that had friends over. Every time she had friends over or she been to someone house which in secondary school, she found out that she had learn lots or more then them and it's surprise her how homeschool had gain her more knowledge in theory and practically. Alhamdulillah, we all need a break we will be ready to start on our regime homeschool after a week time.
