23, 24 , 25 February 2011 : will do second attempt for topic which he got 70% and below. Not many by the way. Most of it the one that he had couple of months back when he still struggle to cope with his Maths. When I first subscribe Conquer Maths. All topics that he did after finishing particular workbook for particular topic, his minimum is 75%, but most of his mark is between 90% to 100%. This had improved his confident over the top and he is over the moon and more confident with the challenge put in front of him. He never ever moan anymore with Maths, Alhamdulillah. So, the similar technique will be using for S and AS Maths. Lucky for As especially as he was homeschool from primary school, he never been behind but got more chance to moved forward easily.

My technique is actually simple, which is make sure the child master in basic skill of maths, which is addition, substraction, multiplication and division. Once he master all this skill, than other topic will be easy for them. This can be done without any particular curriculum, but with plenty of exercise and motivation. It will be a bit harder at first to push the child if they don't like Maths, but with patient , it will be reward after. Insya Allah.

As PS now on serious route of learning, she will have to concentrate which means, although I will be busy, kids will stay on their learning, especially PS and MS Insya Allah. So, I can actually plan better now, especially, MS don't need much motivation as his self motivation had go up the roof. PS always had high self motivation, Alhamdulillah.

So, the above is the plan and target which is hopefully achieveable by MS as this is what he been doing since he get back on Conquer Maths 2 week ago. He been doing 3 topic a day since than. As for that, we will be finish all topic for Key Stage 3 except Algebra by end of February. From March he will stop Conquear maths for a while and will get back on workbook which only for Algebra. I had one book at the moment and will find another book Insya Allah soon. He should be able to finish 2 Key Stage 3 workbook on Algebra only to learn and master his skill in Algebra. Beginning of April, I hope he will than get back on Conquer Maths for Algebra which he should be finish all Algebra topic for Conquer Maths for Key Stage 3. Which mean by May, MS should be finish the whole Key stage 3 Maths.

From May until August, I plan for him to do as much as he can on key Stage 3 test for maths and revision and exercise. From September, we can than start Key Stage 4 Maths. According to Progress he made, and to consider any unplanned journey, I will say, I give him until April 2012 to finish Key Stage 4 Maths topic. He can than just concentrate on exercising and doing test and looking forward for his GCSE Maths. Probably earlier than the age he should be. Which if it goes according to the plan, it was a big achievement for someone who really behind, slow, struggle and hate maths at first place when we first start homeschool. I think his progress and milestone had boost both of us and make me and him very much happy, Alhamdulillah.

And as one subject will need less motivation for me towards him, I can than concentrate on his English. Experience make me think and act better, I reckon. So I decide that I will need a curriculum or manual with outside teacher help. I'm still trying to see the option I got at the moment.

Oh...what a release...
